FUFA Beach Soccer League Title Race Enters Decisive Phase

With the FUFA beach soccer league regular season clicking its apex ten days ago, attention shifts to the championship play-offs that will determine the destine of the 2023/24 campaign.

The top four teams – Kampala City, Mutoola, Buganda Royal and defending champions St. Lawrence University are lacing up for the final sprint come 30th June 2024 at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

It looks set to be a tight title fight as we head into the final stage of the season.

Kampala City and St. Lawrence were involved in the battle for the top spot, for all the regular season and it needed the last day to separate the sides as the latter hit the Kampala men 2-1 to fortify themselves in the first place.

Mutoola were also involved in the initial stages but slipped away and settled for the third place but a double is still on the cards for the Sand Giants having lifted the Muwanguzi Memorial Cup in May.

Following a quiet start to the season, Buganda Royal grew as the campaign progressed – going from strength to strength, to stun MS Sand Lions 3-2 in the final round of the last phase to leap into the fourth position.
